Powerful Tools to Clean Up Your Mail
TEK has a very powerful and configurable spam filtering system that can keep your mailbox free from the clutter of unwanted junk mail.
Nearly all incoming spam is caught by our filter, and can be dealt with as you choose. The message can be let through untouched, marked as spam (by inserting a "[SPAM]" tag at the beginning of the subject line), or it can be refused outright so you never see it.
These settings can be configured per email address, and a default can be set for the domain, affecting all mailboxes that don't have a more specific setting.
Because of the nature of spam filtering, it's possible that there may be "false positives", where the filter declares something to be spam that's really not. We handle these quickly, on a per-message basis.
On occasion, something will slip past the filter. When that happens, we'll ask you to forward the entire message to us (including all the headers) so we can analyze it and decide how to handle future messages like it.
Because of the possibility of false positives, we recommend starting up the spam filtering service in a "mark only" mode. No mail will be refused; the worst that will happen is that something will be marked as spam. If any legitimate messages are marked as such, we'll work together to figure out the right solution. We can apply a variety of special-case settings to make sure your mail gets to you unscathed.
Once things are going smoothly, you'll want to switch to the more aggressive mode that will actually refuse the incoming junk mail, so you can get the full benefit of spam filtering: never seeing the junk at all.
